International Choir Festival "Sing for Gold"
Between October 12 and 16, Calella will host the new world choir festival “Sing for Gold”, where the best ensembles from around the world will perform. This contest, organized by Interkultur and the Calella City Council, involves nearly 6,000 performers from more than 50 countries, challenging for the World Choral Cup in the final round of the event. These awards also help choirs to climb positions in the Musica Mundi world ranking list.
Sing for Gold is not just a contest. Music and singing have accompanied human beings since the dawn of time: celebration and ceremonial songs or simply a mother singing to her baby are part of a universal language that convey emotions and favors social cohesion.
