Municipal Market

At the Municipal Market of Calella we find the perfect place to buy fresh quality products, in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Located in the city centre, the Calella market opens the doors to a tasting of smells and flavours, in a nineteenth-century style building that invites you to capture all the details. The historic building is a project of the architect Jeroni Martorell, built in 1927, and offers the singularity of reproducing the baroque façades of “masías”, the Catalan farmhouses of the area.

It is wonderful to go shopping to the market or just browsing around the stalls, savour the reds, yellows and greens of fruits and vegetables, the silver of fish… A combination of colours, forms and flavours that mix with the buzz and conversations of people. All the stalls offer you the best local products, from Maresme strawberries to squids, cuttlefish and seafood of the waters along the region.

Throughout the year, the market beats with the rhythm of celebrations, workshops and activities that make this place a gastronomic and social meeting point. Every week the multifunctional hall of the market becomes a dance floor for the elderly. Come and enjoy the Municipal Market!
