Travel bloggers visit Calella throughout the weekend

150 bloggers from 60 different blogs related to tourism and leisure take part in the activities organized in Calella for the 6th anniversary of Barcelona Travel Bloggers.

This weekend, a group of 150 bloggers from the Barcelona Travel Bloggers association, specialized in the creation of travel content, visited our city for a blogtrip in different municipalities of the Maresme, organized by the Costa de Maresme Tourist Promotion Consortium with the support of Diputació de Barcelona and the collaboration of Calella City Council and the Turistic Association of Calella.

Calella has participated in the celebration of this event on the occasion of #BcnTB6, the 6th anniversary of Barcelona Travel Bloggers. After the success of previous editions held in Barcelona and Lloret de Mar, this 6th anniversary has been presented as a more ambitious promotion action not only focused on a municipality, but on a whole region, the Costa del Maresme.

Throughout the weekend, the different participating cities organized activities and guided tours that allowed bloggers to know firsthand the destination and its tourist offer. In Calella, on Saturday they visited several cultural heritage places of the city such as the Lighthouse and the Interpretation Center, the Museum-Municipal Archive and the Tourism Museum. They also enjoyed a train-ride with the tourist train, the carrilet.
Sunday activities included the inclusive circuits, accessible to everyone and close to great natural spaces of the city, the open water routes Vies Braves and the sustainable activity Clean up the med, an initiative that aims to increase environmental awareness and respect for the environment with the cleaning of an area of Calella, with the participation of bloggers in collaboration with the Agrupació Escolta Montnegre. The day ended with a paella in the Paseo Manuel Puigvert.

The role of travel bloggers as prescribers of tourist destinations is increasingly valued both by tourism managers and, especially, by end clients. It is particularly important the promotional impact generated by blogtrips on the Internet and especially on social networks. In this regard, it should be noted that already during the weekend, this blogtrip has generated more than 500 tweets related to # BcnTB6 and also more than 500 with #wowmaresme.
