Calella participates at the International Tourism Trade Fair

This week, Madrid has hosted a new edition of FITUR, where Calella had promotional and institutional presence

This last week, Madrid has hosted a new edition of the International Tourism Trade Fair (FITUR), the most important tourism fair of Spain and one of the most consolidated in world stage. Calella has participated in FITUR in the stand of Diputació de Barcelona, under the brand “Catalonia Tourism” (Agència Catalana de Turisme) to promote the touristic attractions that the city can offer, such as culture, family tourism, sports tourism and cycle tourism.

During the Fair, Calella has released the news that the city can offer to the tourist like hiking trails, cycling routes, the “Vies Braves” and the Museum of Tourism.

The mayor of Calella, Montserrat Candini, together with the councillor of Fairs, Núria Parella, had been these days at FITUR with a work schedule that includes several events and meetings.

In the last four years, Calella has seen an increase in terms of visits from the rest of Spain: in 2013, a 8,17% of overnights stays in Calella were from Spanish, and in 2016, it was a 16,59%.
