The mayor, Montserrat Candini, has met representatives of the tourism sector by videoconference to analyze the possible consequences of the current health crisis on the city's economy. Tourism is one of the strategic sectors of Calella that directly contributes almost 45% of the city's wealth and generates many jobs. All agreed that courageous decisions will have to be taken to relaunch destiny and help the sector.

What they have agreed is that in the case of tourism - as in the other economic sectors of Calella - there will be an exercise in unity to address, from the consensus, the solutions that are necessary.

In fact, this afternoon the municipal Board of Spokespersons meets again to follow up on the measures that have been taken from the City Council to deal with the coronavirus. At the last Board meeting (April 10) it was decided to create the Calella Economic and Social Recovery Work Commission where all future solutions should be put on the table.
