The Calella City Council aims to present its tourist offer to operators and travel agencies around the world.
Calella City Council has taken part in the Catalonia Workshop: B2B Travel & Tourism Networking, organized by the Catalan Tourism Agency (ACT) and the European Tourism Association (ETOA). A virtual meeting between tour operators, travel agencies and international suppliers that seeks to establish contacts and network in order to reach commercial and collaboration agreements.
The Catalonia Workshop has allowed the Calella City Council to establish contacts and arrange a total of 21 interviews with international tourism companies, where Calella has offered services for different sectors such as family, active and sports tourism.
The virtual meeting has been taken in order to give continuity to the tourist promotion of the city and present its services to operators and travel agencies around the world. The Calella City Council has exposed all the measures and solutions adopted in recent months to guarantee the safety of the destination in times of covid-19. During the Catalonia Workshop, it was tried to show that the well-being of beach users is a priority. The City Council has explained the different measures which have been carried out, from the complete cleaning and disinfection protocol to the installation of a capacity control system; measures that have earned the city the 'Safe Tourism Certified' seal, endorsed by the Institute for Spanish Tourism Quality (ICTE) last August.
This initiative has made it possible to establish a line of communication with the European Tourism Association, a tarde association for tour operators and suppliers in European destinations, from global brands to local independent business. It includes operators, intermediaries and wholesalers; European tourist boards, hotels, technology companies and other tourism and business service providers.
