This weekend, Calella participated at CMT (Caravanning, Motor and Tourism) Fair of Stuttgart (Germany). During these days a high amount of people had been helped by the tourism technics of Calella.
Calella has been present in the Diputació de Barcelona stand where the touristic promotional material has been distributed to the visitors with the objective of promoting Calella as a destination of “Family tourism” and “Sportive Tourism”. Besides, it is important to highlight the presence of the Consul of Spain in Frankfurt, Mr. Álvaro Trejo, and Mr. Álvaro Blanco, director of the Tourism Spanish Office in Munich, who were really interested in what our city can offer to German market.
German tourist is still the main market in Calella
This 2016 (from January to November), Catalunya received 1.453.700 German tourist that had an average stay of 8 days and a mean of 118 € of spending per day, according to data from Generalitat de Catalunya. The German tourists look for a destination with “sun and beach”, where they can do family activities and enjoy SPAs and relaxation areas.
With regard to Calella, German market, even though it felt a -8.15% in relation with season 2015, is still the main market with 347.524 overnight stays (18.93% of the total) in between the months of May and October 2016.
